Sam and his son Tim were super prompt for first the estimate and then the install. They quoted us the best of all the many quotes we got from all over North County. Prices and friendliness can't be beat! The quality of the door and hardware is impeccable, we are beyond happy with them and their work! It's nice to give business to a family owned and ran company in San Diego especially during a pandemic! They were great about showing up in and wearing the whole time we were near each other their masks too! So I highly recommend Pro Tech Garage Door Services. If there were more stars to give I would!! I called early morning on a Monday and the owner (Sam) answered right away. After hearing my problem with the garage door he asked me if it was an emergency. I said no. He immediately said he could schedule a diagnosis between 2 & 4 for me. He called me right at 2 and explained he would be at my place within 15 minutes. He was right on time and within a minute of being on site knew what the problem was and told me the cost. No BS. He was amazingly cordial and professional, all while taking less than 45 minutes to make my spring repair and minor other adjustments to the door. And can I just say how nice a gentleman Sam was and he seemed to really care about not overselling us and just getting us a quality product that fixed the problem and got us back on track! My garage door had problems since day one when the home was built. I've had previous companies come out and none have been able to permanently fix the problem. Last week My garage door opener malfunctioned and did not stop, which caused the track to rip out of the wall. I am fortunate to have found Pro Tech garage door service. Sam came out the following morning. He was on time, had a mask on and was professional. He explained everything and recommended a few things to change out. I know what everyone is thinking..."up sale." But I visually verified the cracked pieces truly needed replacement and the prices were VERY reasonable. And since he had to charge an hour labor to fix my main problem, he fixed these additional items without additional labor costs. Icing on the cake - he diagnosed and fixed the secondary issue that other companies had not been able to fix. It's been 5 days and the garage door is running the quietest ever. Sam is knowledgeable, runs an honest company and has very reasonable rates. Stop searching and call Sam now!

Sam was absolutely phenomenal! His pricing was over $100 cheaper than his competitors. He was incredibly kind, conscientious, and professional. His workmanship was impeccable. Sam is an absolute professional, with a single glance he was able to pinpoint the issue with our door and fixed it for us in less than an hour. His pricing was fair and he was super upfront about everything from the get go. My door fell off the track with 3 rollers coming off one side and the cable got tangled on the other side. I called around And pro tech was able to come out within 30 mins for a free estimate.

Tim and Sam were Fantastic! My old garage door was broken badly, and wasn't worth wasting good money on. I decided to get estimates via Yelp from many good companies. Tim showed up at my home promptly, wearing a mask, and in a clean and organized work truck, explained very clearly all of my options, even showed me examples of the hardware I could have installed, listened to what I wanted and gave me a very fair and competitive quote. After he left, I thought about it and decided that this was the right guy for my job, told him he had the job, and called back the other (probably very good companies), and let them know, thanks but please don't come because I've hired someone. Tim and Sam were able to fit me in the next day, a Friday, in the afternoon. They showed up on time, with their truck carefully loaded with my new garage door, both wearing masks, and got to work. Their gear setup to get the job done is extremely professional, efficient, and provided great protection for my new garage door. They had already worked 2 other jobs that day, but were efficient, and hard working as if they were fresh on the day. Both Sam and Tim answered the minimal curiosity questions I had, and also asked me my preferences. They disassembled and loaded onto their truck my old door ( I asked them to leave the old opener since it was still good, and thought I could sell it or give it away ), and then proceeded to assemble my new door's hardware, tracks, rollers, springs (by the way, because I selected them outright, Tim gave me the red hardware springs, and sealed bearing roller upgrade for free), and then carefully assembled to door, and hung the lift motor. They finished up on time, cleaned my new garage door of any grease or dirt that will inevitably happen during the assembly process, and then proceeded to show me how to use my new opener ( a belt-drive Liftmaster - soooo quiet and nice to hear! ). Before leaving, they double-checked clean-up of any nuts, bolts, etc, swept, and then asked me if I had any questions before leaving, and also re-assured me that they would answer anything that I might think of later. I could not be happier with their Excellent business style, work processes, straight forward way of conducting business, integrity, hard work, and final result! I am thrilled with my beautiful, new, quiet running garage door. It looks, sounds, and operates Great!

Pro Tech is my go to garage door company. They are so easy to get a hold of and they usually come within a day or two. Sam and Tim have come to my previous condo as well as my new house to service my garage doors. They always leave things better than they found it. I had replaced a lock and key mechanism and didn't have the tools to squeeze the S hook into place and they fixed my crazy zip tie work. They also just recently installed a new garage door lifter that is so quiet, I've had computers run louder than my garage! I've been so excited each time I've used my garage which seems pretty lame. Since I have a brand new lifter, I hope to not need to call for garage repair too often but if I do they will be my first call. They're an honest group and I have really appreciated the the services.

When I first bought my house I needed help with my garage door and opener. I called a company to fix it and they sent Sam. He quickly fixed my issues and took the time to explain to me what was going on. He advised me on what future maintenance would probably be necessary. I made sure to call him back to solidify the installation of the new opener that had a few problems. Sam returned and fixed the problem without issue. Five years later, now, I had a problem with my opener. I called Sam. I didn't call the company I called before, I called him. I learned then that he had started Pro Tech on his own. And I am glad for it. He was in my garage very quickly and fixed my problem and took care of my long deferred maintenance very affordably. He is considerate, he is efficient, he is knowledgable. I would not call any one else. It is so rare that you can find anyone trustworthy especially on their first visit, or when you really need the help soon. I am so fortunate I found Sam when I did. Now, I don't worry about garage door issues. I have the one person who I trust to handle them well and affordably. Sam is the BEST!

Wednesday was the SECOND time I've used Sam. He is the BEST! The first time I bought a garage door from Sam was for my in laws. We surprised them and he showed up early before they got off work and was done so fast! They absolutely love their garage door! The second time was this last Wednesday. I accidentally hit my garage while backing out. It came off the tracks and bent a little. I thought it was going to cost me a fortune to fix and called Sam in a bit of a panic. He came out within an hour, fixed the garage door by putting it back on the track and fixing the dent. He even went as far to look at the garage door and fix things that might cause future problems. With how quick he came to service our house and he charged us practically nothing, I would definitely say he is by far the best in town! Thanks Sam, our little family really appreciates all your hard work and prompt response. It's so awesome to see a local business man hungry for business yet striving to please his customers. Great service. Great guy. Came out the same day and replaced our garage door opener. Tightened our garage's metal bars (we have the old school door) free of charge. Would highly recommend. Will use him again when we are ready to replace our garage door. The best!

Same as most the other reviewers I was browsing reviews for someone to help me install my garage door opener and found Sam and his Pro Tech business almost immediately because of his high ratings. Sam was amazing! I called, he answered, and about 2 1/2 hours later he was at my condo and about an 1 1/2 hour later he had my garage door opener installed perfectly. Not only was the installation flawless he also took the time to explain the options for the unit I had previously purchased and how to use them. Easily the best contractor I've every worked with and super affordable. I will be recommending him to anyone I know with garage door issues and will always use him in the future

On a Friday night my door fell out of its tracks because I had a broken spring and tried to use to door. I thought i was going to need to wait until Monday for a new door. I'm getting married next week and I have so much on my mind. I got in my card to leave and when I pushed the button on the remote my garage door would only go up a couple of inches. I really needed to get my car out of the garage quickly so I called Pro Tech Garage Door Service and Sam answered and assured me that he could arrive within an hour so I went ahead and booked the appointment. Sam arrived in about 30 minutes and was such a nice guy right off the bat. He showed me that I had a broken spring and that my old system only had one spring and that he suggested that I now have two springs installed. It all made perfectly good sense to me so I agreed to have the work done. He repaired my door in 30 minutes and I was able to make all of my appointments today! Sam dropped his business card off after driving by the house and seeing my broken garage door. I am so happy he did! He is such a nice guy!
